Teaching Philosophy

Hey,

I believe music should be inspiring, expressive, and fun.

Every student is different, and that is what makes teaching so rewarding. Some students thrive on structure, some learn best through exploration, and some simply need the right encouragement to discover what they are capable of. My role as a teacher is not only to teach music, but to help each student find their own path and voice through it.

In lessons, I encourage curiosity and creativity. Rather than focusing only on getting the “right” answer, I invite students to ask questions, experiment with different ideas, and reflect on what they hear and feel. I believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when students are actively involved in the process of discovery.

I am also passionate about helping students develop healthy and efficient playing habits. Through greater awareness of how we move, listen, and learn, students can play with more ease, confidence, and freedom of expression. My goal is to help students build strong foundations while developing the independence to solve musical challenges on their own.

Most importantly, I hope that every student leaves their lesson feeling encouraged, motivated, and excited to make music. Whether a student is preparing for an RCM examination, a competition, an audition, or simply learning for the joy of music, I strive to create a supportive environment where growth, creativity, and enjoyment go hand in hand.
